ANWER: Along Came Polly

The only reason why Jennifer Aniston did ‘Along Came Polly

Jennifer Aniston has had her fair share of success in Hollywood, with various films credited to her name. One of her most popular films, the 2004 John Hamburg rom-com, Along Came Polly, saw Aniston alongside  Ben Stiller and Philip Seymour Hoffman in a hilarious rom-com. Aniston had even opened up about what prompted her to choose the role in the film.

According to her, the only reason she chose the film was the idea of working with her friend, Stiller as well as the opportunity to dance salsa.

In the film, Aniston plays the titular Polly who is reckless, unorganised, messy and spirited. She meets her schoolmate Reuben, played by Stiller when the latter is recovering from the aftershocks of his infidel wife.

Although the duo begins dating, their opposite personalities and conflicting nature lead to various upheavals that include Reuben’s obsession with calculating risks and inability to make up his mind.

Aniston got to dance with Stiller in a hilarious salsa scene, thus fulfilling her wishes. High on wacky humor and romance, the film is a feel-good watch that sees a brilliant camaraderie between Aniston and Stiller.

In addition to foul-tempered pets, both of you show off your salsa dancing skills in the movie. How did you pull it off?

STILLER I just took classes for a while and tried to be as good as I can be, which, of course, is not that great. Luckily, that worked for the script.
ANISTON I, however, was supposed to be a really good salsa dancer. Shooting my salsa scenes took five days straight, and my feet looked like raw meat. It was just disgusting. I don’t know how dancers do it. But right after we shot that, I broke my toe by stubbing it on an ottoman, so thank God we shot all that stuff when we did.
